Virginia “Gini” L. Ottinger, 63, of Knightstown passed away due to complications following surgery at St. Vincent Heart Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 12, 1954 in Greensburg, Indiana to Melvin and Marilyn (Gardner) Manning.
Gini is a 1972 graduate of Knightstown High School. Following high school, she was a house wife for many years before returning to school and earning her Associates Degree in Accounting. Gini was a substitute teacher for Charles A. Beard School Corp. for many years. Currently, she was employed as a Pharmacy Technician at Kroger in Greenfield. Gini attended Carthage Community Church. She was a past leader of Bible Study Fellowship in New Castle and was a past member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, brain games, crocheting, knitting and was an avid reader. Gini was a proud mom and grandma and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Suzanne (Robert) Wyatt and Joe (Shawn) Ottinger all of Knightstown; grandchildren, Robert (Luci) Wyatt III, Coleman Wyatt, Candice Wyatt, Brendan Anderson and Jake Ottinger; father, Melvin (Carol) Manning Sr. of New Castle; siblings, Valerie Manning, Melvin (Judy) Manning Jr., Karen (Donald) Wells and Connie (Mark) Tompkins; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her mother, she is preceded in death by her grandparents.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel with Pastor Roger Campbell officiating. Burial will follow at Glen Cove Cemetery.
