Wanda (Phillips) Bales, 90, died Wednesday April 11, 2018 at IU Health Ball Hospital, after a long illness. She was born June 12, 1927 in Carthage, TN to Willard and Verta (Wright) Phillips.
She raised her children in Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and then moved back to New Castle. Wanda was a 1946 graduate of New Castle High and also graduated from Cincinnati University. She attended the Jehovah Witness Church of New Castle and was a member of Park Temple Methodist Church of Ft Lauderdale, FL. Wanda enjoyed playing bridge and euchre with her friends and family, she also enjoyed playing tennis and shuffleboard.
She is survived by her children, Melissa Bales, Arnold and Richard F. Bales of New Castle, grandchildren, Allison (Arnold) DeLong and Richard F. Bales, Jr., great-grandchildren, Blake and Ashton Tutrow and Chloe DeLong.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents Fleming and Leeann Wright and a special aunt, Billi Jo Wilson.
