Wanda Williams

Wanda Mae Williams, 73, of New Castle passed away on Monday June 23, 2025, at Stonebrooke Rehabilitation in New Castle. She was born in New Castle on October 17, 1951, to the late Herman and Lucy (Purvis) Groce.

She was a 1969 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. Wanda worked for many years at Riverside Manufacturing before leaving to go to work at Chrysler and retiring after 11 years of service. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, sewing and making purses. Larry and Wanda loved going to the casino and driving the countryside on the way home.

Wanda is survived by her husband of 47 years, Larry Williams; daughter, Julie Williams; sister, Phyllis (James) Koger; brother, Ronald (Margene) Groce; sister-in-law, Faith Groce; along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents Wanda is preceded in death by her brother, Herman Groce Jr.; sister, Patricia Groce; nephew, Daniel Groce.

Services will be on Monday June 30, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of service.
