Wayne Paul Agee

Wayne Paul Agee passed away at Willows of New Castle on Friday, June 26, 2026 following several years of failing health. He was born July 19, 1951 in New Castle and was a lifelong resident. He attended Chrysler High School with the class of 1969 and was known for his social personality. He and his wife, Debra L. Hudson, whom he married on Oct. 1, 1971, became the parents of two sons: Christopher Paul and Kyle Arthur Agee and they enjoyed grandchildren together.

Wayne was a nature and animal lover, enjoying pets, especially dogs. He loved his family and enjoyed taking them camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, and taught his boys how to hunt. He was a skilled hunter, especially for deer, and was proud of taking the buck whose antlers were hung in his home. He respected God’s creation as he harvested game to provide for his family.

Trying to be content with working inside, he was employed at Ford factory in Connersville for a brief time and worked as a cross-country semi driver. But he was much more suited to farm life and driving a tractor, living near Hagerstown for many years. He also did some welding at that site. Wayne was skilled in many ways. He learned how to defend those he loved, including his country. He was proud of his military service, including 6 years in the Army Reserves. He loved the USA, was proud to be a veteran, evident in the patriotic shirts and caps he wore.

Wayne is survived by sons Chris (wife Amanda), Kyle (wife Sara); grandchildren Caleb, Hunter (Lilly), Karley (Chris), Madilene, Ashton, Leana, and Kaleb; Great Grandchildren Rosie, Kai, Easton, Kayden, and Wyatt. In addition, he is survived by a sister, Wanda Sue Byrd (Mike) and a brother-in-law, Jimmie Thurston, several nieces and nephews, and many close cousins.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Debra L. (Hudson) Agee, who passed on Dec. 31, 2010, after 39 years of marriage; his parents: Otha and Erma F. (Brown) Agee, and a sister, Brenda J. (Agee) Thurston. 

A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 10th at 11am at Hinsey- Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with the Revs. Wanda and Tami Byrd officiating.
