William "Bill" Thomas Pugh

New Castle

William “Bill” Thomas Pugh, 91, of New Castle passed away Friday, October 9, 2026 at his residence. He was born on November 20, 1934 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Thomas and Bessie (Owens) Pugh.

Bill proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict before embarking on a remarkable 38 year career at the Chrysler Corporation—a company he loyally supported because it provided for his family. Bill was a natural jokester who knew how to have a good time, finding joy in the simple pleasures of life such as camping, traveling in their RV, tending to his vegetable garden, and sitting peacefully on the front porch swing. Whether he was piddling around the house, hunting for treasures at yard sales and thrift stores, or simply soaking up the outdoors, Bill's greatest happiness came from spending time with the people he loved most.

He is survived by his wife, Norma (Fugett) Pugh; children Julie (Jason) Rigney, Jeff Fearin, Joyce (Terry) Fearin-Robinson, Billy Pugh, Scott Pugh and Judy Manning; grandchildren, Angela (Adam) Bass, Matthew (Angelia) Carter, Tyler (Devon) Carter, John (Aubrey) Carter, Randi Frost, Jeffery (Jen) Fearin, Josey, Joel, Whitney and Justin Fearin, Dionne Pugh, Shane (Danielle) Benjamin, Sean (Noah) Benjamin, Tiffany (Deryk) Miller, Chris and Josh Robinson; great grandchildren, Layla, Truxton, Knoxlee, Cartier, Chloe, Rylee, Payton, Dillon, Lillian, Zander, Thomas, Ryan, Vinson, Ronin, Saiyan, Amaris, Myles and Malaky; siblings, Cecil Pugh and Della McCombs; his best friend, John Goble and his late wife, Beth and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his children, Jon Fearin, Vickie, Robin and Pamela Pugh; siblings, Bob Pugh, Zack Pugh, Delbert Owens, Marie Gauker, Faye Smith; and a son-in-law, Melvin Manning.
