William “Bill” Blann, 72, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2026, at I.U. Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness. He was born December 1, 1953, in Noblesville, a son to the late Edward Morton and Jo Ann (Hamilton) Blann.
Bill graduated from Lincoln High School in Cambridge City in 1971. He retired from Ford Visteon in Connersville following over 30 years of service. He then worked at Lowe’s in Richmond, and most recently Gillman Home Center in New Castle. He was a licensed pilot.
A true handyman, Bill enjoyed home improvement projects, and enjoyed being at his granddaughter, Riley’s beck and call. He was always willing to take her shopping or out to eat at a moment’s notice.
He leaves to cherish her memory, his daughter, Kelly (Scott) Davis of New Castle; granddaughter, Riley Davis of New Castle; and sister, Amy Blann of Liberty.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant sister, Missy Blann.
A Celebration of Life will be at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2026, at Open Arms Church in New Castle with Pastors Paul, Ricky and Brock Davis officiating. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service. Cremation will take place at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle.
