William Robert Clements

William "Bill" Robert Clements, 90, of Carthage passed away Friday, September 25, 2026. He was born July 16, 1936 in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Alma (Dant) Clements.

Bill graduated from Cathedral High School, where he met the love of his life, Reba Woolf. Following high school, he proudly joined the U.S. Army, serving as a gunner and tank driver with the 81st Tank Division. After his military service, Bill married Reba. He devoted 32 years to UPS as a driver before retiring. In retirement, Bill continued to stay active, working security at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and at events held at Lucas Oil Stadium.

A dedicated servant to his community, Bill volunteered with the Carthage Fire Department for 28 years. He also proudly served for many years with the Knightstown American Legion Honor Guard. Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of St. Rose Catholic Church. Some of Bill's happiest memories were made with his family camping at Deitz Lake, where they spent many years enjoying the outdoors and one another's company.

He is survived by his children, Denise (Chuck) Burke of Stafford, VA, Diana Clements Scott of Greenfield, Robert (Linda) Clements of Center Point, IN, Donald Clements of Indianapolis, and Donna York of Greenfield; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Reba Clements; a grandson, Donald York; great grandchildren, Grayson and Iris Gold and two sisters.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service Knightstown Chapel. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Washington Park East Cemetery in Indianapolis with military honors provided by contingents from the U.S. Army and Knightstown American Legion.
