William Arthur Shorter

William Arthur Shorter, a beloved son, brother, husband, and friend, passed away on September 14, 2026, after a lengthy battle with a heart condition. Born on January 24, 1968, in South Bend, Indiana, William lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

William was the cherished son of Earl and Allie Shorter which preceded him in death along with his loving wife, Talina Shorter, and his brother, Thomas Shorter. He is survived by his devoted family: brothers, Steve Shorter, along with his wife Angela, and Riley Shorter, with his wife Amanda. His sisters Betty Leiby, married to Scott, and Darlene Nunn, married to Phillip, and many nieces and nephews, also carry forward his legacy of kindness and joy.

A man of many talents, William had a true passion for fishing, often spending serene days by the water. He was also an enthusiastic cook, finding joy in creating delicious meals for his loved ones. In quieter moments, William enjoyed the intricate art of diamond painting, a reflection of his patience and attention to detail.

William had an extraordinary ability to make people laugh, brightening the lives of all who knew him with his unique perspective on life. His humor and warmth left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered, and his presence will be deeply missed.

A service to celebrate William's life will be held on September 19, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the home of Chad Leiby, located at 20406 Longboat Court, Bristol, Indiana, 46507. Family, friends, and all those whose lives were touched by William are invited to gather and remember the remarkable man he was.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, as a tribute to William's generous spirit and the love he shared with the world. William Arthur Shorter will forever be remembered for his laughter, love, and the light he brought into our lives.
