Carolyn Sue Hahne

Carolyn Sue (Koger) Hahne, 86, of New Castle went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at Glen Oaks Health Campus.  She was born April 7, 1938 in Pulaski County, Ky to the late Roy and Ona (Muse) Vaughn.

Carolyn was a 1956 graduate of New Lisbon High School. She had been employed as a bookkeeper at Henry County Savings and Loan, Cable TV office, Henry County Surveyor, Dr. Grider Dentistry, Jan’s Hallmark and the Wooden Key.  Carolyn grew up in the First Church of the Nazarene and later attended Kennard Friends and Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church.  She enjoyed decorating, cooking and jewelry making. Carolyn loved to travel and visited Hawaii, Las Vegas and enjoyed Cruising. She loved vacationing at her second home with her husband Paul at Dale Hollow Lake in Kentucky. Paul would catch ‘em and clean ‘em and Carolyn would fry ‘em up!

She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Steve) Koger-Arnett of New Castle; grandchildren, Taylor (Kyle) Phegley of New Castle and Kendall Arnett of Muncie; great-grandchildren, Allister and Jude Phegley; sisters, Marcia England and Vicki (John) Moles, both of New Castle; brother-in-law, Bob (Pat) Koger of New Castle; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Paul D. Koger; her second husband, Ron Hahne and her dog Sassafras "Sassy".

Services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle, with Pastor Steve Arnett officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service. The family requests that, in lieu of planters, memorial contributions be given to Mt. Zion Wesleyan Church, 1583 N. County Road 300 W., New Castle, IN 47362.
