Mary Lou Huckelby, 78, of New Castle, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024 at I.U. Ball Hospital in Muncie following an extended illness. She was born May 6, 1946 in Morehead, KY, a daughter of the late Delbert and Leola (Logan) Conley.

Mary enjoyed all things homemaker. She also enjoyed painting ceramics, watching Soap Operas, working word searches and reading her Devotionals. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in New Castle.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Allen (Sherrie) Conley of Centerville, Larry (Connie) Lewis of New Castle, and Robert (Beth) Lewis of Centerville; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Barb Austin of Shirley, and a brother, Delby (Karen) Conley of Greensburg; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Huckelby, and a son, Johnny Huckelby in August, 2023; several brothers and sisters.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 3, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Allen Polston officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery, West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2024 at the funeral home.
