Rodney Ray Shultz, 79, of rural New Castle, passed away Friday, April 12, 2024, at his home following a brief illness. He was born March 21, 1945, in Richmond, a son of the late Ray C. and Frances (Lamott) Shultz.

A 1963 graduate of Hagerstown High School, Rodney was employed as a handyman, doing odd jobs for over 34 years. He also retired from Chrysler Corporation in New Castle in 2006.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of over 52 years, whom he married August 30, 1972, Patsy (Vickery) Shultz of New Castle; children, Kevin Ray (Ann) Shultz of Hagerstown, Keith Allen (Andrea) Shultz of Hagerstown, Shawndell Marie (Aaron) Wilkinson of Lewisville, Jason (Sylvia) Shultz of New Castle; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a son in law, Larry Smith of New Castle; a sister, Jeanne (Jerry) Spalding of Richmond ; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin May Smith; two brothers, Jerry Shultz and Jim Shultz.

Service will be at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 19, 2024 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Visitation will be one hour prior from 12:00-1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bryan Cemetery in Centerville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Henry County Cancer Society c/o Henry County Community Foundation, 700 S.
